And now a few words from me:
Hello! My life has been a little bit rough lately. But I just had surgery on my broken thigh bone and things are starting to turn around for me. Right now I am recovering quite nicely in my new foster home. I get to sleep all day on a pile of comfy blankets, play with my toys, and receive lots of affection from my foster parents. My foster mom says that I am a real sweetie, and very handsome, too! I can't wait to get better so that I can go to my new home. I would love to have a new owner who likes to play and give me cuddles.
And now a few words from my foster mom:
Max was surrendered by his owners at no fault of his own. Max fell from the top of a couch and broke his thigh bone, and his owners were unable to afford the surgery. Max was then scheduled to be put to sleep because his owners could see no other option. But Loyal Rescue saved him just in time, and this deserving pooch was able to have the surgery he needed. Max is now on 'bed rest'; staying in his crate for at least 6 weeks while he fully recovers.
When I first saw Max, I was in awe of how beautiful he is. Then he licked my cheek and completely won me over. Max is a sweetheart of a dog! He loves people, learns quickly and is very eager to please. Also, Max has not shown any separation anxiety when my husband and I leave him home alone. When we walk back through the door, he will sometimes whine because he wants us to come over and visit him.
Max is also a very good patient! He will eat his pills right out of my hand, and is extremely tolerant of me squirting medicine into his mouth and strapping his plastic cone on and off. And then he'll always give me a kiss on the cheek during the process. So despite his discomfort, Max remains a very happy and sweet pooch, who is absolute pleasure to have in our home.
When Max isn't sleeping, he enjoys playing with his toys loves to go outside- even in the snow! Max also loves being kissed, and loves when we pet him and scratch around his ears. I imagine that Max would be energetic if he was in the physical condition to run around.
As Max recovers and starts to feel more like himself, I will get an even better idea of what his personality is like.
